The agreement has been reached between Ministry, Regions and Provinces to support the sector
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies, the Regions and the Autonomous Provinces have reached an agreement on support for the organic sector.
In particular, the approved Ministerial Decree defines the criteria and procedures for the implementation of the interventions intended for forms of agricultural production and promotion of organic farming sectors and districts, based on the "Fund for organic farming". The aim is to promote the biological and ecological conversion of the agri-food sector, to develop the integration between the actors in the supply chain and to ensure positive effects on the local economy. Further measures will define details of the access requirements of the applicants, the eligibility conditions of the projects and the further operational modalities.
With regard to organic farming, the Conference also agreed on the decree implementing the EU Regulation 2018/848 on organic production, organic collective catering, operators' obligations for the purposes of monitoring and simplifying the labelling of organic products.
