The total amount of resources made available by the Region of Sardinia, through specific calls for tenders in support of coastal fishing and aquaculture, is 10,500,000 euros. It consists of impactful actions and funding of up to 100 per cent for eligible expenses: an absolute novelty for Italy, one that is being implemented for the first time in Sardinia.
These are the envisaged interventions: the first action is aimed at increasing the competitiveness of small-scale coastal fishing enterprises at sea and in inland waters, as well as at improving the income conditions of employees; the second action focuses on the competitiveness and safety of the sale and processing of fishery and aquaculture products; the third action focuses on investments on board and in ports, and it aims at increasing the quality of production as well as improving landing conditions for unwanted catches: it also promotes better working conditions, health and safety for operators in the sector.
Applications must be submitted from 10 a.m. on 2 September until 10 a.m. on 15 October 2024, exclusively through the Region's SIPES computer system.
A fourth action has also been defined: this is aimed at improving competitiveness and safety conditions when carrying out aquaculture activities.
