The Italian agri-food companies compete with Paris

ICE, the Italian Foreign Trade Agency, organizes the participation of local companies at the Paris International Food Show(SIAL), from 18 to 22 October 2020, which will take place at the Parc des Expositions de Paris-Nord Villepinte.

SIAL is a biennial event dedicated to the entire agri-food sector including wines and beverages. It represents one of the most important trade fairs for companies in the sector. France is the second export market for our food products after Germany: in 2018 it surpassed the value of fashion, thanks to a positive performance that brought the total of exports to reach 4.2 billion euros.

Italian agri-food exports to France consist of: pasta and cereal-based products, confectionery and bakery products (745.3 million in 2018 and + 2.7% compared to 2017), milk and dairy products (568 million and + 7.8%), beverages and spirits (470.8 million and + 11.5%), vegetable preparations, legumes and fruits such as sauces, preserves, jams and juices (369.3 million and +5 , 9%), fresh fruit (361.6 million and + 4.6%). In 2018, exports of coffee, tea and spices (142.6 million and -4.3%) and fat and oil (136.3 million and -11.4%) registered a decline.

The 2018 edition of the SIAL fair in Paris registered the presence of 7 thousand 200 exhibitors of which 85% are foreigners and 310 thousand visitors, 73% of whom come from around 200 countries. At the next edition, the Italian Pavilion will extend over an area of ​​about 2100 square meters.

Companies interested in participating must complete the form online by July 14, 2019. ICE Agency will send a confirmation email with the forms to adhere to the initiative, consisting of the Application Form and the General Rules for participation, which must be stamped and signed by the legal representative and sent exclusively the certified email address agroindustria@cert.ice.it. The certified mail, to be valid, must necessarily include the wording "Sial Paris 2020" in the object.
