The Energy Law-Decree reserves a tax credit for companies in Southern Italy that make investments in the southern regions to improve energy efficiency and promote autonomous production of energy from renewable sources. The available resources amount to 290 million euros and will be provided in the form of tax credits for the years 2022 and 2023, to support companies in the southern regions that will invest in energy efficiency and self-generation of energy from renewable sources. The measure, included in the Law-Decree "Energy" on the initiative of the Ministry for the South and territorial cohesion, will be financed through the Development and Cohesion Fund and will be implemented by a forthcoming ad hoc decree. It is provided that the tax credit may be combined with other facilities relating to the same costs, provided that such cumulation does not exceed the cost incurred.
