Innovative start-ups, appointment at the Gitex in Dubai

ICE, the Italian Foreign Trade Agency, organizes the participation of Italian innovative start-ups at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition in Dubai from 6 to 9 October 2019.

In the United Arab Emirates, Gitex represents the main annual exhibition dedicated to information and communication technologies. The objective of the Italian participation is to favour the access of Italian start-ups into a market with a high technological content such as the Emirate and the Gulf countries. Since the 1980s, the UAE has undertaken a policy of diversifying its economy with the progressive reduction of its dependence on oil and an intensification of investments towards sectors characterized by high intensity of innovation.

The exhibition space will consist of an open space area of ​​about 50 square meters, in which each start-up will benefit from a package consisting of a series of dedicated initiatives: participation in the "Investor Program" (a dedicated program to facilitate the connection between start-ups and investors); participation in the "Corporate Buyer Program" (dedicated program for connecting start-ups with corporate buyers); participation in the "start-up pitch" competition with important prizes; access to conferences and mentorship program; communication actions and catalogue of the collective, distributed during the fair; assistance of ICE-Agency staff who will be present at the fair and interpreting service.

To participate in the event, innovative start-ups and SMEs must be registered in the special Register of the Chamber of Commerce and must belong to one of the following sectors: ICT, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, E-commerce, Consumer & Retail Tech Marketing, Digital and Social Media Tech, Education Tech, Environmental Tech, Creative Economy Tech, Healthcare Technology, Finance Technology, Smart City, Tourism & Hospitality, Mobility.

The interested companies must send the application form and the participation regulation, signed and stamped, together with a copy of the start-up registry certificate via certified mail to startupeinnovazione@cert.ice.it ; the  online form must be completed in English by 5 July 2019 .
