On 15 September 2025, the call for applications for innovative projects presented in collaboration with Italian and French start-ups will open, in accordance with the “Smart & Start” measure managed by Invitalia, following the procedures described in Circular No. 70806 of 28 July 2025 from the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy.
The call for proposals is part of a broader memorandum of understanding signed in November 2024 by Bpifrance and Invitalia to support the cross-border development of start-ups and their access to the partner country's market, in implementation of the provisions of the “Treaty between the Italian Republic and the French Republic for enhanced bilateral cooperation”, also known as the “Quirinale Treaty”.
The projects covered by the call for proposals must:
be submitted jointly by a French and an Italian company
aim in the short term at the commercialisation of an innovative product or service
leverage a solid partnership capable of accelerating the development and commercialisation of their products or services in a wider market.
The French and Italian companies partnering in the selected projects will thus be eligible for funding from Bpifrance and Invitalia, subject to their respective eligibility conditions.
