The European Commission has published a new call for proposals for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie 2023 doctorate networks. The call should fund over 130 doctorates in all scientific fields, as well as the training and skills development of 1,600 doctoral candidates. With a budget of 434,8 million euros, the call will fund doctoral programmes implemented by international partnerships between organisations from different sectors across Europe and the rest of the world. Specific incentives are provided for the establishment of industrial doctorates, in addition to ordinary doctorates, aimed at training researchers and developing their skills outside the academic world, especially industry, business and the public sector, and joint doctorates, offering integrated training programmes with common or multiple degrees. The call is open until 28 November 2023.

Doctoral networks provide researchers with academic and non-academic opportunities, and provide them with research training, as well as transferable skills and competences, useful for innovation and long-term employability. They also benefit participating organisations by supporting outstanding doctoral programs that enable them to attract talent, increase global visibility, and promote international ties with other industries.
