The platform is a single digital space, where stakeholders, including public bodies, industry, SMEs and academia can exchange best practices, share experiences and discuss issues.
The goal of the platform is to foster collaboration and form a community of public buyers committed to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of bureaucratic procedures.
"The launch of the Public Buyers Community Platform represents significant progress towards the European Commission’s goal of promoting transparency, fairness and competition in public procurement," the Commission argues. The platform follows the emergence of the European Public Procurement Data Area, which allows the sharing of data on the preparation of tenders, the tenders themselves and their outcome. The platform, accessible to all European public procurement professionals, should help to improve procurement management in the EU.
