Enoexpo in Krakow, Italian wines are there

ICE, the Agency for foreign promotion and internationalization of Italian companies, will bring the Italian firms to Enoexpo, scheduled in Krakow from 7 to 9 November. Now in its 16th edition, the Polish fair is hosted in the Horeca and Gastrofood exhibition spaces, which in 2017 welcomed 160 exhibitors from 20 countries and 13 thousand visitors. This year a large space will be devoted to wine tastings and meetings with producers and representatives of wineries. Sparkling wines, increasingly popular and appreciated, will be the main feature of most of the seminars, that are focused mainly on these varieties.

Poland is a growing market, with important commercial ties with Italy. The commercial exchange is over 20 billion euros. In the last five years Polish imports of wines have increased by 34.9% in value and 26.5% in volume. The trend also continued in 2017: imports grew 9.3% in value and 9.0% in volume compared to the previous year. Italy is the leading wine supplier in Poland by value and the second by volume, preceded by Bulgaria. The value of its exports in 2017 is 53 million euro and 100 thousand euro: + 14.3% compared to 2016, for a market share of 19.5%. In second place the US, France third. Red wine accounts for 60% of the polish consumption; white wines make up for another 30% share and the remainig 10% are rosé wines.
