Commission approves the government investment plan

There is the green light from the European Commission to the Italian scheme of 677 million euros to support investment and a sustainable recovery in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. The measure will be accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises active in certain sectors, such as the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, scientific research, and development. The measure is expected to support private investments in tangible and intangible fixed assets of a considerable number of enterprises, ranging from 600 to 800.

The Commission approved the Italian scheme after finding that the plan was in line with the conditions laid down in the temporary framework. In particular, the aid will not exceed 1% of the total budget of the scheme per beneficiary, will support investments in tangible and intangible assets, but not financial investments, and will be granted by 31 December 2022.
